Job Description:

Position Overview

NES provides cutting edge technology for one of the leading players in the online publishing product space, and is seeking a Technical Lead to play a key role as an individual contributor.

The Technical Lead works with Enterprise Architecture (EA) team to develop functional proof-of-concepts on a new or existing technologies adopted or considered by EIS. The deliverables require development of high quality of code, systems, solutions, and tests that can be eventually be deployed in production environment.

Qualified applicants must have excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, work independently, maintain a positive attitude and have a proven ability to be effective/add value in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment, while establishing solid work relationships with co-workers.

The position is based out of Hyderabad, but the individual will work directly with Enterprise Architecture team in Ipswich, MA. Travel to Ipswich may be required for training and/or other purposes.

Essential functions:

Must be a hands-on individual who is committed to working independently and effectively as a lead for a small local team that continuously meet our business goals.
Responsibilities include:
o Become the primary contact for EBSCO onshore EA team.
o Must be hands-on, ability to lead while assisting with the overall development effort.
o Identify workflow inefficiencies; provide potential solutions to onshore EA team.
o Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner.
Strong background with SDLC and SOA principles
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Maintain currency in emerging technologies, software development / architecture techniques, and trends.
Ability to quickly learn and utilize 3rd party tools 

Skills Required:

Must Have Skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience
9+ years of experience developing Java based back end infrastructure, services and applications with demanding non-functional requirements
9+ years of experience developing Spring based back end services and components
4+ years of leadership experience
3+ years of experience developing applications supported by relational, or document based or graph databases
2+ years of experience developing messaging applications, preferably with ActiveMQ
2+ years of Camel development experience
Familiarity with OSGi concepts
Experience with Maven and Jenkins
Working knowledge of large distributed systems and experience with handling challenges that come with the process distribution.
Experience with JUnit and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Good To Have Skills

Previous experience with JIRA, Rally, Stash, Git is preferred
Experience with a load testing techniques
Deep understanding of Web technologies, client/server technologies.
Experience with Lean (Scrum, Kanban) methodologies.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience with statistical analysis
Familiarity with search technologies
Familiarity with Javascript and UI development
Familiarity with Node.js
Experience applying Enterprise Integration Patterns
